Showreel life in your region

The Pinnacle Incorporated Showreel life summer photo competition closed Friday 9 February 2018. We were thrilled to have had great participation from Pinnacle staff and practices. Your willingness to support our work is greatly appreciated in helping to build a bigger library of real New Zealand imagery.

The judging process

There were many excellent photos (we had 61 entries!) and the judges had a hard time choosing the winners! The Pinnacle MHN management team shortlisted to a few photos for each category. Those photos were then judged by external expert Selina Noorland, graphic designer from Paper Mache, to decide the winner and runner up for each category. The winners in each category won a $200 experience voucher from Red Balloon and each runner up won a $50 Prezzi card.

Landscape category winners

Selina's judging comments...

"Lyn's photo has such beautiful and vivid colours and is a sharp and clear photo. I love the interesting angle, looking down at the beach and waves from a height. The way the fence in the foreground draws the eye in and frames the image is great. The photo really captures the essence of a stunning New Zealand landscape."
"The glorious colour of the clouds and sky, which is reflected in the water, really grabbed me in Renee's photo. Indirectly, it also reflects Pinnacle MHN's brand colours! Including the tree leaves in the top right-hand corner creates creative interest and the image gives a feeling of calm and restfulness."

People living healthy lifestyles category winners

Congratulations first place winner Tess James, Pinnacle MHN clinical pharmacist for her photo Karioi Summit Track and runner up Shannon Goodman, Fairfield Family Health receptionist for her photo 'Wharf jumping at Port Jackson'.

Selina's judging comments...

"Tess should be congratulated for a photo with stunning colours and a sharp capture. There was obviously quite a walk up to this stunning location, off the beaten track with no boardwalk or easy access, and it's worth the hike! The greenery on the left creates interest and gives another dimension to the foreground. The way the billowy clouds hang over the sea creating shadows over the water adds to the effect."
"Shannon's photo was captured just at the right time, crisp with no motion blur. The raw rocks in the foreground against the interesting hills in the background is a nice contrast. And how much fun does this look? Out and about swimming and enjoying the water in his sun-smart gear."
