Ventures high tech imaging direct access to MRI programme update

Venture's ACC high tech imaging (HTI) project is continuing to progress across the Midland region.

An electronic high tech imaging portal is in production, designed to address the issues of non-integration in the patient management system market which may have disadvantaged Medtech users.

The portal will support clinical consultations, referral and claiming processes and auditing of clinical outcomes. A user-testing phase will be completed by the end of November, with the portal live to support the first patients early December.

An e-learning platform has been built to support the face to face education sessions. This training forms the credentialing requirements and ultimately access rights to the programme. CME points are available for your time.

A steering group is being established, and governance terms of reference is being drafted to support the programme connecting with national groups. Alongside this a quality assurance program is being developed to support the programmes clinical performance.

Waikato has commenced training with approximately 30 GPs taking part, Lakes is also underway with 10 GPs. Training and credentialing should be complete for this first wave by early December 2018. (Book training in Lakes or Waikato.)

We are aware of the issue of travel and rural equity and have plans to deliver training in Coromandel and South Waikato early in the New Year - please watch Pin Points for updates.

Tairāwhiti is the engagement phase with key stakeholders and has good support going forward. Clinical lead Dr Tim Salmond and physio Jo Chivers will be heading the rollout.

Taranaki has completed the engagement phase with all key stakeholders. We have appointed clinical lead Dr Sam Smith and physio Lydia Raddich. The Taranaki leads are currently spending time with sports physician Dr Stephen Kara to upskill in the delivery of the programme.

Taranaki and Tairāwhiti will likely go-live at the same time, with a target of March 2019 (training commencing in February 2019).
