Wintec Health Services is located at the City and Rotokauri campuses. The clinics provide health care to current Wintec staff, and domestic and international students.
The team are here to help you achieve the best health you can so you can succeed in your studies at Wintec. Our aim is to provide an affordable service to all users.
Part-time GPs are available at both clinics. The nurse will help you make an appointment if they feel you need to see a GP.
Sometimes a visit to the nurse is all that is needed to discuss your health issue. Nurses are available daily and no appointment is required.
A range of nurse services are available including free condom prescriptions, free emergency contraception, free sexual health checks and free cervical smears for students.
Other services incur a small charge, for example, hearing tests, general advice and discussion, repeat prescriptions and vaccinations.
Doctors can carry out general health checks, insurance medicals, driver licence and sport medicals (anything your usual GP can do, ours can too!).
Counsellors and chaplain
Counsellors and a chaplain are available Monday to Friday, at no charge.
