Frank Cullen


General practitioner, practice owner and board member

Frank Cullen is the chairman of Pinnacle Incorporated and is a GP at Fairfield Medical Centre in Hamilton.

After graduating from the University of Otago in 1974, Frank completed further training at Christchurch Hospital before spending two years overseas working in both secondary care and general practice. On returning to New Zealand, he completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and a GP Training year at Waikato Hospital, and became a partner at Fairfield Medical Centre in 1983.

In 1989, Frank was involved in the setting up of General Medical Services Ltd, the predecessor to Pinnacle Incorporated; and sat on the governance board for two years. His involvement with Pinnacle continued in the later 90s as a member of the Quality Committee.

Frank completed a Pinnacle funded Diploma in Strategic Leadership in 2002, joined the Executive Committee of Pinnacle Incorporated as deputy chairman in 2003, and assumed the chairman's role in 2005.
