Updates
Birth coding and the AIR
With the introduction of the Aotearoa Immunisation Register (AIR) as a replacement for the National Immunisation Register (NIR) some changes have been made to the way newborn enrolment operates. The AIR team has noticed that some children are not accurately appearing in AIR reports due to not having a birth enrolment code recorded.
What can you do to help?
For a child to appear in the AIR they must have a birth code recorded in a practice PMS when completing enrolment. By ensuring a child is birth coded (B-Coded) in PMS’ practices can ensure that children appear in the AIR and associated reports and that they receive funding for enrolling that child.
